If you’re a good person, life will be good too, right?
Beata means Bliss in Italian. Seeking freedom from the desperation and poverty of post-war Italy, she, her husband and kids migrate to 1960s Melbourne. But life is complicated. Beata juggles family responsibilities with factory work; it’s hard to communicate with limited English and her husband, Federico, is violent with pathological jealousy. Beata realises that bliss is not a hungry kitten. More like a panther, it will shred and devour her unless she is willing to fight for her life.
